Birthday Gift

I have made this shaggy quilt for my daughter-in-law Gayle for her birthday in April. The fabric was purchased as a kit from Kerry Swain at Cottage on the Hill. The quilt it was for was Le Jardin but I think it looks pretty good as a shaggy. I added a border which is a bit different for a shaggy quilt.

Mumms scraps

This quilt is called Mumms scraps and was designed by Kerry Swain at Cottage on the Hill.Club Quilt members had a couple of scrap swaps nights, we all took our scraps and exchanged them and this is what I created. I finished it and quilted it today. Another WISP bites the dust!

Reasons for being a slack blogger

I apologise for not blogging for a whole week. I am the vice captain of the ladies golf and have had a busy week organising the golf program for 2008.We only play golf in the Winter because it is too hot the rest of the year. I also spent one day quilting a quilt for a friend,Kath.I think Peg will show you the quilt on Club Quilt Narromine blog. I have quilted one quilt for myself (pictures coming up) and made a shaggy flannel quilt.I will try to keep blogging more often

Quilt as you go

Here is the seam that joins the two blocks together. Fold a fabric strip 1 3/4 inches wide in half and sew the raw edges in the seam that joins the blocks together (just like a bind).Cover the seam and handstich .

Quilt as you go

I made these blocks last year as a quilt as you go quilt and had no idea how to put them together. Luckily Andrea (the Welsh quilter) had a tutorial on her blog, which works really well. Thanks Andrea.

Shaggy Quilt

The flannel fabric for this shaggy quilt was purchased from Cottage on the Hill a couple of years ago. I have decided to look at fabric as an investment for the future. It sure is more interesting than stocks and shares!
