Milford Sound

Milford Sound has an average rainfall of 8metres per annum so we were very lucky on the day that we went that we had cloudless skies and sunshine. We also had a pod of about 12 dolphins in the wake of our boat.

A great place to visit.

Check out the reflection in the water.

New Zealand- so much to see

This is a Moeraki boulder formed 60 million years ago. Same way as an oyster forms a pearl. They are still growing

This is Mount Cook, the highest mountain on the South island. It is usually shrouded in cloud but we had a great day to see it. Good weather followed us for our whole 2 weeks.

DH and I enjoying the scenery.

Trip to New Zealand

We are starting with a 7 day bus tripof the south island.. We landed in Christchurch but because of the earthquake their was a lack of accomodation close by so this is where we were taken, about an hours drive, what a view!!!

The first day we drove to lake Tekapo, the water is this colour because of the mica which is washed from the glaciers.
This country is beautiful and if you have the chance to travel there do so as you will not be disappointed.

Golf Trip to Corowa

There was a mob of about 50 kangaroos lying amongst the trees sunning themselves. Luckily my ball did not go near them

This is the mighty Murray river that runs along side the golf course

We recently spent 5 days playing golf with a group of 14 like minded people. We had a great time with good weather everyday. This is the eighth year we have been. Looking forward to many more.
DH and I are headed to New Zealand in a couple of weeks to have a game over there.

Boys Story by Annie Downes

This is what I have been working on, I decided to make it for Tommy my youngest grandson who has just had his fifth birthday
The quilt is designed by Annie Downes and is gorgeous.

Tommy loves it. I put his photo instead of one of the applique blocks.

I used fabric from my birthday swap fat quarters.
